時々マスコミにも登場していることから、その名を知られている「アジア放送研究会」。
設立以来30年が経ち、メンバーの高齢化もすすんでいるとか。しかし活動は盛んで、いつも若々しく新鮮味あふれる内容である。
30年を記念して、記録に残る事業をしようと、短波での特別放送を行うことが計画された。その放送がいよいよ電波にのる日が来た。
ABI特別放送は10月8日1300UTCから30分間。周波数は12085kHz。番組は日本語だが、開始と終了のIDは、中国語、韓国語、英語でも行われる。また30周年記念メッセージはこれらの言語でその抄訳が放送される予定。
